Woodstock’s National Forest identifies ferns in Working Woodlands Workshop

Saturday, June 20 at 9 a.m. — WOODSTOCK — Join the Working Woodlands Workshop, “Fern Fun” on Saturday, June 20 at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Ferns are a beautiful inhabitant of the forest. Come learn how to identify the native ferns of northern New England. Vermont has more than 50 different species, and the Park is home to a great variety of these. There will be an introductory talk and hands-on exploration, discussing the terminology and distinguishing characteristics for many different fern species. This workshop is co-sponsored by Vermont Coverts and Vermont Woodlands Association.

The free workshop runs from 9-11 a.m. Meet at the Forest Center, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Parking is available at the Billings Farm & Museum parking lot.
