KILLINGTON — The Town of Killington announces the upcoming summer camp opportunities and programs.
“We have some new exciting changes in our summer programming for the upcoming summer that will give opportunities to all age kids this summer,” said Kim Peters, director of Killington Parks and Recreation department.
Splash into Swimming Camp runs June 8-19. The camp is free to swimmers who have registered for Killington Sharks or the Rutland swim team. Get some time in the water working on all four strokes before practices begin.
Camp Loads of Fun and Rek & Trek Adventure camps run June 22 – Aug. 14. Camp Loads of Fun provides the fun and camaraderie of a neighborhood full of kids with themed weeks, arts and crafts, library time, and other exciting projects. Located at the Johnson Recreation Center, campers will have the opportunity to enjoy swim lessons, swim team, soccer and tennis camps. Rek & Trek Adventure Camp provides kids with a wonderful opportunity to experience the great outdoors all summer long. The first week the kids will travel to Chittenden Reservoir, Montshire Museum of Science, and go hiking at Pico, to name a few. After a day of hiking, kids can swim at the pool to be refreshed!
The Sharks swim team practices at the Johnson Pool from June 15-Aug. 5, and competes at home and neighboring communities throughout the week.
Challenger Soccer Camp runs from July 20-24, offering young players the opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Players will partake in skills, drills, and games to learn lessons in self-discipline, good sportsmanship and respect for others and for the game.
Top Spin Tennis Camp runs Aug. 3-7, and will introduce children to the exciting game of tennis through games and drills that will help them learn the fundamentals of tennis.
