Thursday, May 28 — RUTLAND — NeighborWorks and Castleton Downtown will host a free workshop on smart investing as part of their “Forget the Fluff: Finances for Real Life” series. The workshop will be Thursday, May 28, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Castleton Downtown in the Opera House on Merchants Row in Rutland.
An expert from Heritage Family Credit Union, Steve Morneau, will discuss smart investing strategies.
Morneau’s presentation will help audience members understand the components of a smart retirement plan, including how to choose the right type of IRA. About 70 percent of working Americans find it hard to save for retirement, according to a 2014 CBS News poll. Come to this workshop and get the tools and strategies to start creating a retirement plan today.
“Forget the Fluff: Finances for Real Life” is designed to connect recent college grads, aspiring homeowners, young professionals, and entrepreneurs with tools and expertise to invest wisely in their financial futures. Previous sessions provided strategies and advice for achieving homeownership and repaying student loans.
