GMNGC kicks off summer Twilight League, May 14

KILLINGTON – Golf season has officially arrived in Killington, and with it the beginning of summer leagues and learn-to-golf programs. Green Mountain National Golf Course will kick off its popular Thursday night Twilight League Thursday, May 14, featuring a party with Long Trail Brewing.

“We’re looking forward to a great turnout, and we’re excited to see everyone back,” says Dave Soucy, PGA, Green Mountain National’s Head Professional and general manager. “Twilight League is a great time for everyone at a great price, and all levels and abilities are welcome to join. We’ve made some terrific upgrades to our clubhouse and grill, and we can’t wait to show folks around.”

Thursday’s “blind draw” scramble tees off promptly at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join the fun and beginners are encouraged to play. The cost is $15 for members, $25 for non-members, which includes nine holes of golf, cart, prizes and a light dinner. To sign up for Thursday Night Twilight League, call (802) 422-4653 on Thursday morning.

Also underway at Green Mountain National are Saturday morning and Tuesday evening adult golf clinics at the driving range.  Join USGTF instructor Alan Jeffery each Saturday at 10:30 a.m. to brush up on fundamental skills and strengthen your swing. Equipment is available for those without clubs. Space is limited, so advance sign up is encouraged.

Tuesday evenings, Dave Soucy leads the PGA’s Get Golf Ready program designed to teach everything a beginning golfer needs to know to start playing golf, or get back into the game. Each session will focus on fundamental golf skills and students will be guided onto the golf course to put their skills into action.

“This is a great opportunity to learn the game of golf in a casual, friendly, unintimidating way, and combine fun, friends and fitness,” says Soucy. “We provide clubs, balls and everything you need to ‘Get Golf Ready.” The cost of the five-week program is $99.

For more information, or to register for any of Green Mountain National’s golf programs, call (802) 422-4653 or visit www.gmngc.com.
