CSJ to honor Paul Gallo

Life-long Rutland resident selected for Provider of the Year Award

Saturday, May 9 at 7 p.m. — RUTLAND — College of St. Joseph has selected Paul Gallo to receive this year’s Provider of the Year Award at its annual Provider Scholarship Gala.

“Paul Gallo is one of several people leading a local renaissance. His roots are in Rutland, and he has a clear vision for adding life to the community,” said CSJ President Richard Lloyd. “His optimism and commitment to the region have been a driving force in the revitalization of downtown and beyond.”

Gallo will receive the award at this year’s Provider Scholarship Gala, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at The Vermont Marble Museum in Proctor. More information on the Gala is available at csj.edu/gala.

A passionate community volunteer, he serves as vice president of the Paramount Theatre’s Board of Directors. In 2014, he took on the challenge to transform the dream of a children’s museum from a tiny, minimal space to the vibrant jewel that Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum has become in less than a year.

He has also been instrumental in the development of the Creek Path initiative, and is a former Rutland Free Library Trustee and President of Rutland Creative Economy.

As an active member of the MSJ development committee, Gallo is a fierce advocate for the critical importance of Catholic schools in the Rutland region.

Gallo was educated at Christ the King school and Mount St. Joseph Academy before attending Champlain College and Castleton State College. Gallo is CEO of Magic Brush Painting, which he began while still in high school and grew into one of the largest painting companies in Vermont.

Gallo lives in Rutland Town with his wife, Ingrid, and daughter, Lucia.
