KILLINGTON—Killington Mountain School trustees have approved bonds for the four-season bag jump project, thereby allowing the school to move forward with construction of the facility. The airbag project is still considered a component of the Trails Initiative, but the decision was made to finance the bag via a separate funding source with the goal to get it up and running as expeditiously as possible. While the Highline Trail will be funded by tax-free donations, the bag jump will be financed via short-term bonds made available to families and friends of the school. The school is hoping to secure these bonds in the spring of 2015 in order to begin construction early this summer and to have the facility open in August.
Final decisions are being made about location, and the process of securing permits is underway.
