RUTLAND — Two groups affiliated with the Society for Human Resources Management recently received approval from the State of Vermont and the Society of Human Resources Management to form a new Chapter called the Green Mountain Human Resources Association, Inc. (GMHRA). The mission of this group is to promote professional Human Resource development and leadership for our members and the companies they represent.
The new Green Mountain Human Resources Association, Inc. is a result of a merger between two well-established Vermont chapters; the Rutland County Group, Greater Rutland Area Personnel Executives (GRAPE) and the Bennington County Group, Professional Human Resources Management Association in Southern Vermont (PHRMA).
It is a SHRM-affiliated professional chapter and an important link for the human resource profession by providing a forum for the personal and professional development of its members through networking and education, an opportunity to focus on current human resource management issues of importance to members and a focus for legislative attention to state and national human resource management issues.
The 2015 Board members are Barbara Begin, Ellen Coyle, Jill Corbo, Melissa Norman, Ethan Zorzi, Judy Geiger, Aniko Balzer and Theresa Miele.
“We are looking forward to expanding our membership to those in the Human Resources profession along the southwestern side of Vermont. We also hope to be a resource for our human resources peers in any corner of Vermont lacking a SHRM Chapter presence,” said Chapter President, Barbara Begin.
Meetings are typically held six times per year on the second Friday of even months.
