Rutland Conservation District spring plant sale coming up

RUTLAND—Trees beautify our surroundings, help save energy, nurture wildlife and protect our waterways. For over 15 years the Rutland Natural Resources Conservation District has offered its annual spring sale of tree seedlings, berry bushes and other plants. All stock is bare-root and is available at a very reasonable cost. The Rutland Conservation District has sold thousands of plants through this program. Trees available are: balsam fir, Fraser fir, blue spruce and white spruce, white cedar, red oak, sugar maple, birch, dogwood and fruit trees (apple, pear, peach, plum and sweet cherry). Shrubs include elderberry and lilac. Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and asparagus plants and daylilies are also available. Orders will be taken until April 15, 2015, or while supplies last.
