RUTLAND — Rutland Regional Medical Center, a sponsor of Vermont Public Television’s PBS series “Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies,” will host a free film screening and community conversation with Allan Eisemann, MD, Medical Director and Rick Lovett, MD, Radiation Oncologist of the Foley Cancer Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
The screening, hosted on Tuesday, April 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Rutland Country Club on 275 Grove Street, Rutland, is free and open to the public.
The PBS documentary produced by Ken Burns is based on “The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer” by Pulitzer Prize winning author and practicing oncologist Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD. The series chronicles the 4,000-year effort to understand, treat and ultimately cure cancer and features an in-depth historical perspective, profiles of current patients, and a scientific and investigative report on the quest for a cure.
