Pittsford UPS driver recognized for safe driving record

PITTSFORD—UPS driver Wayne Winston of Pittsford was recently inducted into UPS’s prestigious Circle of Honor for achieving 25 years of accident-free driving. Winston, along with seven other elite drivers from Vermont, is among 1,445 new inductees. Vermont boasts 29 active Circle of Honor drivers in total with a combined 792 years of accident-free driving. Joseph Young of Marshfield is the state’s senior safe driver, with 34 years of accident-free driving under his belt. There are 306 UPS drivers in Vermont. Globally, 7,878 active UPS drivers are members of the Circle of Honor. (UPS has 102,000 active drivers.) Collectively they’ve racked up more than 221,000 years and more than 5.3 billion safe miles during their careers. That’s enough miles to travel to Mars and back 36 times! “My thanks go to all of them for their dedication and focus, and for the countless lives they’ve saved,” said Ivy Brown, president, UPS Northeast District. Founded in 1907, UPS has a strong history of safety and training.
