College of St. Joseph basketball teams closed out their regular season by winning all four games this past week. The women remain No. 1 in the USCAA Div. II coaches’ poll and the men remain ranked No. 4.

Thursday, Feb. 12
The Fighting Saints men cruised past conference opponent Hampshire 101-53.
For the Saints, Sean Spruill was able to consistently knock down three point shots and had a season high 26 points on 8-17 shooting. Steven Edwards also added 17 points on 5-11 shooting from deep. The Saints were able to get a good size lead early, which helped them rest their starters.

The Lady Saints hosted Hampshire and came out with a win, 98-20.
Each player on the Saints roster scored points, and six had eight or more.  Chontayvia Kennedy led all scorers with 14 points, while Imani Stephenson had 13 and Jamie McLaughlin had 12. The Saints found their success in creating turnovers, taking 57 points off 39 turnovers.

Friday, Feb. 13
The Lady Saints completed their undefeated conference run with a dominating 71-44 win over Eastern Maine Community College. Regina Steele led the Lady Saints with 20 points and 34 rebounds (yes, 34). Chontayvia Kennedy added 11 points in the win.

The CSJ men capped off their regular season with a 72-63 win over Eastern Maine Community College. Dre Anderson led the way with 20 points and fellow senior Steven Edwards added 19 points on six three pointers.

Coming up
The Fighting Saints men enter the conference tournament as the second seed. They next play Friday, Feb. 20, in the conference tournament at NHTI. The time of the game and opponent have not yet been announced as of press time. The Saints men finish the year 17-11 overall and 12-2 in the conference.

The Lady Saints move on as the number one seed in the conference tournament at NHTI, and next play Thursday, Feb. 19. The time of the game and opponent have not yet been determined as of press time. The Lady Saints finish the year 19-4 overall and 12-0 in the conference.
