Country artist Frankie Ballard performs at Pickle Barrel

Sunday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. — KILLINGTON — Country music artist Frankie Ballard will appear in concert on Sunday, Feb. 22 at the Pickle Barrel Nightclub in Killington. The show is open to anyone 18 years of age and older; those under 18 admitted with parent or guardian.

A multi-instrumentalist who doubles as his band’s lead guitarist, Ballard hails from Battle Creek, Michigan and grew up “loving Elvis and Johnny Horton.” He first hit the public spotlight with two Top 30 singles, “Tell Me You Get Lonely” and “A Buncha Girls,” appearing on the Grand Ole Opry and playing packed arenas opening for Kenny Chesney and on major tours with Taylor Swift and Bob Seger. He has made late night appearances on Conan O’Brien, and most recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Ballard’s latest album, Sunshine & Whiskey, was released in February 2014 and has produced two number-one singles. The album is a mixture of influences, from country classics to blues legends, from Southern rock to contemporary sounds, all held together by his artistic personality.

Ballard loves the connection he makes with his fans on the road.

“My bread and butter is playing live,” he said. “We give everything we’ve got to put on a heck of a show. And the best is when the connection comes through one of your songs. To watch someone sing your song at the top of their lungs because they’ve been through the same thing, that means as much to a performer as it does to a fan, and that’s what keeps me going.”

Advance tickets are available online, at JAX Food & Games, or at Pickle Barrel during business hours. Tickets will also be available at the door.  Showtime is 8 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m. The Pickle Barrel is located midway on the Killington Road.
