Blind and visually impaired athletes to attend eighth annual Winter Ski Festival in Killington

KILLINGTON —  On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 7-8, up to 20 blind and visually impaired athletes from East of the Mississippi will learn to ski or learn to race with Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports this weekend at the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) Winter Ski Festival.

Events will be at Pico Mountain Resort and Mountain Meadows Cross Country Ski Center in Killington.  

Athletes will be attending from New England states and from as far west as California. Athletes include veterans and a Paralympic hopeful. The event is open to all ages, all abilities and all ski levels. Trained guides and instructors are provided by Vermont Adaptive, the largest year-round disabled sports non-profit organization in Vermont, which is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities.
