2015 OVGC men’s league underway

LUDLOW – The first round of play in the 2015 Men’s League at Okemo Valley Golf Club took place on Tuesday, May 5. The team scramble from various tee boxes launched the quest for the Commissioner’s Cup. Snagging the top spot for the night was Knight Tubs. After a herculean drive by Chris Garvey on the par-5 second hole, and with the help of Mark Falango, Ken Guy and Brian Halligan, the team was able to eagle it. This sealed the victory as they went on to card a 5-under par 30. Second place went to Honey Dew Man: Dave Higley, Peter Girouard, Jack Koponen and Bill Higgins shot a 4-under par 31. Finishing third was Diamond Reality: Roger Danyew, Charlie Howard, Jim Poissant and Francis Devine shot a 4-under par 31. Jack Koponen covered the flag on the fourth knocking it to 17 feet and JP Rousse stiffed his approach to 12 feet on the fourth to claim closest to the pin.

1st Knight Tubs score 30/15 pts.

2nd Honey Dew Man score 31/13 pts.

3rd Diamond Realty score 31/11 pts.

4th Engel & Voelkers Realty score 31/10 pts.

5th Stryhas Builders score 32/9 pts.

6th Bensons Chevrolet score 33/8 pts.

7th M&M Excavating score 34/7 pts.

8th Built Rite Mfg. score 34/6 pts.

9th Green Mountain Appraisals score 34/5 pts.

10th UBS Rutland score 34/4pts.
