Rutland Rec to hold public meeting on Rutland City Pool

On Thursday, Dec. 11, Rutland Recreation and Parks Department will hold a public meeting at the Rutland Free Library’s Fox Room at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be an interactive discussion on what Rutland would like to see in a pool design and on choosing an indoor and/or outdoor pool.

Questions to consider are: if we choose not to fix White’s Pool “as is” or we build a pool in a new location, what would you consider the highest priorities in a municipal pool? Would it be a place to recreationally swim laps? Would it have competitive lap lanes (suitable depth for diving)? Diving board? Slides? Zero entry? Spray ground? Designed for aquatic exercise? Ideal for swim lessons?

The Rutland Recreation and Parks Department would like your input for what will best serve the community now and for decades to come.

For more information contact Cindi Wight, Superintendent at cindiw@rutlandrec.com or 773-1822. All information from the meeting  will also be available on the website within two days of the meeting, visit www.rutlandrec.com.
