Killington to discuss sidewalk to Resort

KILLINGTON – Residents, business owners and local stakeholders of the Town of Killington are invited to attend the Planning Commission Meeting to discuss pedestrian connections and improvements between the existing Killington Road sidewalk and the Killington Ski Resort.  The purpose of this initial local concerns meeting is to collect early input on experiences, issues, and recommendations from the public.

The project area includes Killington Road from the existing walkway in front of the Peak Performance Ski Shop and continues towards the existing East Mountain Road intersection. The town has hired RSG to study existing conditions and to develop alternative strategies to improve pedestrian connectivity and enhance safe walkability in the ski resort area.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Killington Town Offices, located at 2706 River Road, Killington.

The meeting will include an overview of the project, a summary of existing conditions, and the project goals. A collaborative discussion session will follow where all attendees can express their thoughts and suggestions on opportunities for pedestrian enhancements in the project area.

The meeting will include representatives from the Town of Killington and the project consultant team, RSG.
