Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. — RUTLAND — The Chaffee Art Center once again hosts its annual Gingerbread Construction Contest in conjunction with the second annual Holiday Boutique. This year the contest is themed “Out of the Box,” where participants are encouraged to think up bizarre, innovative, or nontraditional designs. Awards will be given for best candy free design, best contemporary/futuristic architecture, best gingerbread sculpture, overall best in theme, and people’s choice.
Themed and un-themed, two-dimensional or three-dimensional gingerbread designs will be accepted. The contest is open to individuals or groups of all ages. All materials used in the construction of gingerbread designs must be edible. Entry deadline is Dec. 6 by 6 p.m. The exhibit runs Dec. 5 to 19.
