Blanche Joan Toth, 83, of Arlington, Mass. and formerly of Bridgewater Corners, Vt., died peacefully on Oct. 29, 2014, at the de Rham Hospice Home in Cambridge, Mass. Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., daughter of the late Martin and Viola (Glenck) Loftus, she graduated from Sayreville (N.J.) High School. Beloved wife of the late William Toth, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage and together owned restaurants in Spotswood, N.J., and Bridgewater Corners, Vt.
She is survived by her daughter Laurie Everett, her husband Dan and granddaughters Holly Everett and Alison Everett of Arlington, Mass.; daughter Blanche McMillen, her husband Jim and grandson Michael Farace, of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren Lauren Perez-Hart of South Carolina, John Michels of Arizona, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Elaine Michels. She also leaves her sister Edith Miller of Wheaton, Ill., brother-in-law Warren Pfeuffer of Old Bridge, N.J., and many nieces and nephews.
For 31 years, she owned and operated the legendary Blanche and Bill’s Pancake House in Bridgewater. There Blanche was known, not only for wonderful breakfasts, but also for her kind and welcoming spirit, dedication to the staff, passion for the Boston Red Sox, and befriending everyone who came through the door.
Blanche retired at 78 and moved to Arlington. She enjoyed walks to Spy Pond, being a “city girl” and the joy of attending many of her granddaughters’ concerts, school and sporting events. She lived at the Legacy Apartments, where she made many friends and leaves her cherished Scrabble Club members.

Arrangements by Keefe Funeral Home, Arlington. Visitation Friday Nov. 7, 5-8 p.m. and memorial service Saturday Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. A celebration of her life also will be held in Woodstock, Vt., Saturday Nov. 29, at Cabot Funeral Home, followed by a private burial.
