CASTLETON—The Castleton State College Rotaract Club, a chapter of Rotary International, focuses on community service and professional development. The club has been active since May of 2013 in several local community projects as well as international endeavors. In February of 2015, club members, together with fellow Rotarians from Vermont and New Hampshire, plan to visit the town of Danli, Honduras. There, Rotaract team members will be involved in construction and water purification projects. This project is a fantastic opportunity for Castleton students to broaden their worldview, to understand social problems that exist in another country, and to give of themselves in order to benefit some of the world’s neediest families.
“Since coming to Castleton State College in Spring of 2013, I have successfully chartered the Rotaract Club here with a group of like-minded individuals. Now I am hoping to share my experiences with them, as well as allow them to discover the benefits of service and international travel for themselves.”
The club operates under the guidance of the Fair Haven Rotary Club.
