Saturday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. — WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum will host the 5th Annual Woodstock Vermont Film Series beginning on Saturday, Oct. 25 and continuing through April 4, 2015. Fifteen films and documentaries from around the world have been selected for the big screen in the museum’s theater, with high definition digital projection and Dolby™ surround-sound. All films are open to the public and accessible to people with disabilities. Reservations are strongly recommended.
On Saturday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m., the series will begin with the Academy Award nominee film “Thin Ice.” As climate scientists have been coming under increasing attack, geologist Simon Lamb takes a look at what’s really happening with global warming by filming scientists at work in the Arctic, the Antarctic, and around the world. The result is a unique exploration of the science behind global warming and an intimate portrait of a global community of researchers racing to understand our planet’s changing climate. The film is not rated. It has garnered the Princeton Environmental Film Festival, Audience Favorite award.
Ticket prices for members are $9 for adults 16 and up, or $98 for 15-film package; children 3-15, $5 per film. Non-member prices are $11 for adults 16 and up, or $132 for 15-film package; children ages 3-15, $6 per film.
