Saturday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. — WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum, gateway to Vermont’s rural heritage, is hosting Traditional Craft Saturdays on the first four Saturdays in September, from 10 a.m. – 50 p.m. Visitors are invited to explore a series of Vermont crafts – their history, process, and uses – through informal learning and discovery. A different craft will be featured each week.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, pottery with Ara Cardew of Cornish Flats, N.H. will be the features of the week. Ara, a third generation potter who grew up at Wenford Bridge Pottery, UK, will demonstrate the steps and techniques involved in pottery making – using hand techniques and a potters wheel.
Next week is the final Saturday, featuring coopering with David Salvetti, Fulton, NY.
On Traditional Craft Saturdays, the operating dairy farm, farm life exhibits, restored and furnished farmhouse, plus programs and activities are included in the entrance fee.
