Brandon Gap (Route 73) to close for 14 days

ROCHESTER/BRANDON  — The Vermont Agency of Transportation has issued a construction update regarding a road closure to all traffic. Route 73 between Rochester and Brandon (the Brandon Gap) will close to traffic at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, and reopen at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. As part of the Rochester/Middlebury/Warren bridge repair projects, bridge 13 will be replaced due to major damage sustained in 2011, during Tropical Storm Irene. Bridge 13 is located near the top of the gap on the Rochester side. The road will be closed west of West Hill Road, for 14 days. Traffic should seek alternate routes via Route 125 or Route 7.
