Sept. 5-7 — WOODSTOCK — BarnArts Center for the Arts, in coordination with Sculpturefest presents Patrick Barlow’s adaptation of “The 39 Steps,” based on the1935 movie by Alfred Hitchcock, at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 5, 6, 12, and 13; and at 5 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 14. The performances will be held at King Farm Barn in Woodstock. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for students.
Actors Paul Daniel West from Quechee; Jona Tuck from East Barnard; and Shu-nan Chu and Corey Armstrong from Lebanon comprise the cast. The show is directed by Jarvis Green.
Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of “Monty Python” and you have “The 39 Steps,” a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre. This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a talented cast of four), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance.
