Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. — CHITTENDEN — The Mountain Top Inn & Resort will offer a special celebration and menu surrounding their Long Trail Brewers Dinner. Taking place on Thursday, Aug. 21, this is the third in a series of four “Meet The Brewers” dinners held at The Mountain Top Tavern this summer. Each dinner, created in conjunction with Farrell Distributing, features a different Vermont brewery. The Aug. 2 tasting will feature three Long Trail beers presented by Dave Hartmann, Long Trail Master Brewer, and paired with a three course chef’s tasting menu inspired by the flavor profile of each brew.
The upcoming event is especially notable as Long Trail Brewing Company celebrates its 25th Anniversary just two days later on Saturday, Aug. 23 at their Bridgewater Corners location.
In the spirit of the 25 year celebration, The Mountain Top Inn will present Mr. Hartmann with a one-of-a-kind cake inspired by the Long Trail brand and designed by specialty cake maker, “Irene’s Cakes By Design” of Ludlow.
The “Meet the Brewers” Long Trail dinner will prepare us for the fall season by pairing Long Trail Pumpkin Ale, Long Trail Harvest and their flagship brew, Long Trail Ale with chef prepared dishes such as chipotle pumpkin wontons, arugula topped fried smoked gouda and Long Trail Ale braised pork chops.
The tasting starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 at The Mountain Top Tavern. The price is $25 per person. Reservations are recommended.
The fourth and final dinner in the series will be hosted on Thursday, Sept.18, featuring Chris Mayne and Earl McGoff of Northshire Brewery.
