Friday, Aug. 15 — LUDLOW – Okemo Mountain Resort will host a free concert on Aug. 15 featuring Tony Lee Thomas as part of the Jackson Gore Summer Music Series. Concerts are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday evenings in the courtyard at the Jackson Gore Inn.
Growing up in a musical family, Tony Lee Thomas started singing at a young age. His vocal endeavors have included classical technique, various choral ensembles, even barbershop and doo-wop quartets. Thomas began playing guitar at age 7 and double bass at age 10.
Every room, event, and audience is different – therefore, the Tony Lee Thomas Band’s musical sets span those differences to better connect with concertgoers who can expect original music, improvisation and rock covers (Derek and the Dominoes, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix).
On Friday nights throughout the summer season, the lawn in the courtyard at Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn is transformed into an outdoor concert venue featuring popular local and regional bands. Admission is free and the grounds open at 5 p.m. Families are welcome and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. In case of rain, the concerts will move indoors. Dining options include fresh-from-the-grill burgers, hot dogs, and other summertime favorites, plus beer and wine is available for purchase. Full-service dining with al fresco seating in the courtyard is offered at Jackson Gore’s Coleman Brook Tavern.
Following Tony Lee Thomas on Aug. 15, the summer lineup for the Jackson Gore Summer Music Series includes: Kenny Mehler, Aug. 22 and 2Adam12, Aug. 29.
