Friday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. — LUDLOW — Okemo Mountain Resort will host a free concert on August 8 featuring the Dan Walker Band as part of the Jackson Gore Summer Music Series presented by Vermont Properties and Development, Inc. Concerts are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday evenings in the courtyard at the Jackson Gore Inn. Dan Walker has an organic approach to creating and performing live acoustic music. Groove oriented and soul bound, his music has earned him opportunities to support Martin Sexton, Livingston Taylor, Merle Haggard, Roseanne Cash and Slaid Cleaves. Continually working the gig schedule, he has received much praise for his voice and guitar picking. Walker has played in many different settings and venues and he has written, recorded and produced three full-length CDs. On Friday nights throughout the summer season, the lawn in the courtyard at Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn is transformed into an outdoor concert venue featuring popular local and regional bands. Admission is free and the grounds open at 5 p.m. Families are welcome and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. In case of rain, the concerts will move indoors. Dining options include freshfrom- the-grill burgers, hot dogs, and other summertime favorites, plus beer and wine is available for purchase. For more info, visit okemo.com or call 802-228-1600.
