Trump sweeps into presidency

Shocks pollsters, nation with dominant win
By Angelo Lynn
Republican Donald Trump has won the presidential race with a projected 300-plus electoral votes, winning the crucial swing states of Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Michigan and Wisconsin. If Democrat Hillary Clinton hangs on to a razor-thin lead in New Hampshire, she will only have carried the New England states, plus New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia, as well as Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and the three West Coast states (California, Oregon and Washington.) Trump won the other 30 states and about 85 percent of the nation’s land mass.
The electoral map was a sea of red.
Republicans also  retained their majority in the Senate and the House, with Democrats picking up just one confirmed seat in the Senate. It was grim election news for Democrats across the nation.
