Strangefellows Pub to host grand opening downtown, Friday

RUTLAND — Strangefellows Pub located at 13 Evelyn Street in Rutland is hosting a grand opening on Friday, Dec. 5.

Being a pub only open 4-10 p.m. may seem like a strange idea, but at Strangefellows Pub it makes sense. Open every day except Mondays, Strangefellows will offer a wide variety of food, beer, liquor and coffee drinks for those looking for a respite after a hard day of work.

Food-wise, Strangefellows will offer something for everyone with standard pub fare items like wings, nachos, and fries. For the hungry, there are beef, turkey or pulled pork sliders. For the really hungry, there is meatloaf, three types of mac and cheese, chili and some amazing hot grinders.

On the “not so strange” side they have brussels sprouts, hummus, salads, soup, and tater tots. For the adventurous eaters, there are options like fried cauliflower coated in a sriracha sauce, blooming onion served with fried pickles and fried banana peppers, or “breakfast for dinner” – a scotch egg served with fried French toast and bacon wrapped figs.

No one is left out at Strangefellows; there are gluten free options, vegetarian options and kid friendly choices available.

For the thirsty, six taps offer a decent variety.  On tap now they have a porter, an IPA, a lager, two ales, and a local cider.  They also offer a growing selection of 22 oz. craft beer bottles. For the chilly, coffee based liquor drinks will fight off the cold.

“So, stop by for something deliciously different at Strangefellows Pub,” said organizer Joseph Sharps.
