The Mountain Times ceases direct-mail to Pittsfield rural route

Change due to new postal regulations
Staff report
PITTSFIELD—Due to postal regulations, The Mountain Times can no longer be direct-mailed to Pittsfield residents on the rural route. The change is effective immediately.
There is a distribution box in the vestibule at the Pittsfield post office, sharing a building with the Swiss Farm Market (a.k.a., the Pittstop), that will have extra papers distributed weekly to accommodate the change. Readers can also pick up The Mountain Times in Pittsfield at the Clear River Tavern and the Original General Store.
Killington rural route and highway contract route residents will still receive the weekly publication in their mail boxes.
Subscriptions are available for the cost of postage on an annual or seasonal basis for those that wish to continue having the paper delivered, call 422-2399.
