Jackson Gore summer music series returns

Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m. — LUDLOW — Okemo Mountain Resort kicks off summer with the return of the Jackson Gore Summer Music Series. Named a “2015 Best of New England Editor’s Pick” by Yankee Magazine, Okemo’s free concerts are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. most Friday nights throughout the summer.

Starting June 10, the music series welcomes local favorite Rick Redington & The Luv. Described by one music writer as a “Folk-Abilly-Rasta-Jam-Rock Band,” Rick Redington & The Luv pairs Redington’s powerful vocals and guitar slinging efforts with hot-gypsy-bass-mama Heather Lynne and longtime band alumnus Blake Gowan on drums.

On Friday nights throughout the summer season, the lawn in the courtyard at Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn is transformed into an outdoor concert venue featuring popular local and regional bands. Admission is free and the grounds open at 5 p.m. Families are welcome and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. In case of rain, the concerts will move under cover. Dining options and beer and wine are available.

Following Rick Redington & The Luv on June 10, the summer lineup for the Jackson Gore Summer Music Series includes: Gypsy reel on June 17; 2ADAM12 on June 24; Studio Two – The Beatles Tribute on July 1; Cold Chocolate on July 15; Satin and Steel on July 22; Jenni Johnson & the Jazz Junketeers on July 29; Dr. T and the Versatiles on Aug. 12; The Tony Lee Thomas Band on Aug. 19; Chris Kleeman on Aug. 26; and CK3 on Sept. 2.
