Eighth annual Dancing Darkly event features belly dancing and fusion

Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.—WEST RUTLAND—Dancers from across Vermont and New England will be performing in this year’s Dancing Darkly event, on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the West Rutland Town Hall Theatre. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 per person.
Dancing Darkly will feature a variety of dance styles including cabaret, tribal, and fusion—all honoring the best in geek pop culture. Performance themes will include “Big Hero Six,” “Avatar,” “Mystery Science Theater,” “Assassin’s Creed,” “V,” “Game of Thrones” and much more. Vendors will also be present selling dance clothing, jewelry, and accessories.
“Dancing Darkly originally started because I really wanted to do a Halloween show, dance to some spooky music, and just have fun. Now—in its eighth year—it has become so much more. Our geek-themed show three years ago was such a hit that everyone wanted to revisit it. It has been amazing to hear what people have come up with, and I am so excited to share it with everyone,” said Joann Larson, event organizer.
West Rutland Town Hall Theatre is located at 35 Marble St., West Rutland. For more info, call 802-468-1393.
