Beth Miller to be featured at Castleton Downtown Gallery

Friday, July 15 at 6 p.m. — RUTLAND — The Castleton Downtown Gallery in Rutland is currently featuring the works of local artist Beth Miller running through Aug. 6. An artist reception is scheduled for Friday, July 15 at 6 p.m.

Entitled “This World Is Exactly What I Wanted,” the exhibit will feature a variety of works drawn from experiencing the world around her as she integrates beauty, reverence, innocence, and grief.

Concerned with the planet, this show uses materials from the natural world in a way that is both beautiful and haunting, bringing the viewer to the place between appreciation and despair.

“This work aspires to process our shared grief and anxiety into a source of new energy. The installation is a prayer for the healing of the planet by way of my senses, my curiosity, my love,” said Miller. “These images stretch me back through time but also press my imagination directly into the uncertain future of unfolding climate challenges.”

The Castleton Downtown Gallery is located on Center Street Alley in Rutland and is open Wednesday through Saturday with hours of operation from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
