Young Killington woman found dead; illegal drugs use suspected

KILLINGTON—On Sept. 27, 2016, at 1:46 p.m., Vermont State Police and local EMS responded to a residence on Killington Road, for a report of  an unresponsive women. EMS subsequently pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as Ashleigh A. Rector, age 30 of Killington.
A preliminary investigation by the Vermont State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) yielded the scene to be the residence of Rector, as well as of her multiple roommates. The victim had been discovered unresponsive by one of her roommates, who called for assistance.
There were indications at the scene of illegal drug use by the victim, police reported. However, there was no indication of foul play. The victim was transported to the OCME for autopsy. The exact cause and manner of death were pending at the time of the police report.
