Welsh heritage societies give presentation on antique clock

Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m.—POULTNEY—Poultney Area St. David’s Society and the Welsh-American Genealogical Society will give a presentation Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
“A Story of a Clock” by Mark Roberts is about his family’s grandfather clock, which was made in northwest Wales 202 years ago. The clock traveled to the Vermont/New York slate valley in the 1870s and has been in the possession of several generations of the Roberts family. Possession and care of the clock will soon transfer to Mark’s eldest son, Max Roberts. Mark and his younger son, Sam Roberts, recently completed a tour of Wales while researching the clock’s history as well as their family history, some of which will be shared in the presentation.
Mark Roberts grew up in the slate valley but currently lives in Valrico, Fla. He will be digitally present on the large screen for this presentation.
All are welcome. The event is in the fellowship room of United Baptist Church, On the Green, East Poultney.
