VSAC Shows You How webinar explores career training opportunities

Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m.—Vermont Student Assistance Corp. is offering a free webinar for Vermonters looking to take the next step in their education. The online event will provide an overview of certificate and training programs as well as explain how to apply for financial aid to pay for it.

Participate via Zoom by registering at bit.ly/VSAC_adult_learning or by visiting VSAC’s Facebook page. The event also will be recorded and available for viewing later.

This year’s pandemic has upended plans for many Vermonters, and the economy will certainly feel the aftershocks. Now is a good time to look to your future and make plans to take your career to new level – or maybe a new direction.

In this VSAC Shows You How webinar, you’ll learn about the large variety of certificate, training and apprenticeship programs available in Vermont, and resources for career exploration – including high-pay, high-demand jobs in the state. Learn, too, about the available funding opportunities, including the Vermont Advancement Grant, Curtis Certificate of Value Training Scholarship, the Department of Labor’s CTE scholarship and other forms of gift aid.

VSAC panelists include Marilyn Cargill, vice president of financial aid services, marketing and research; Suzie Wagner, adult outreach counselor in the Educational Opportunity Center; and Miranda Roth, manager in the grants department.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the presentation, which may be addressed during the live broadcast itself, privately during the broadcast, or in a follow-up 1:1 consultation. You can also submit your questions prior to the webinar by sending them to info@vsac.org.
