VINS new spring program schedule

VINS Forest Canopy Walk

QUECHEE—The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is welcoming the spring season by extending open hours at the center and offering new daily programs. Beginning May 1, VINS resumed live bird programs, and the Forest Exhibit and Reptile Room will be open to viewers of all ages.

The live bird programs will be held daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

On the Nature Center campus, the public also has access to the exciting VINS experience, including:

  • Raptor Enclosures – 17 habitats for many species of eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls
  • Reptile Room – discover the amazing adaptations of our reptiles
  • Forest Exhibit – experience the sights and sounds of our natural forest
  • Wild Songbird Aviary – home to many species of native songbirds, who are former rehabilitation patients
  • Birds Are Dinosaurs – explore the Birds Are Dinosaurs exhibit and the journey of how birds evolved from dinosaurs
  • Forest Canopy Walk – elevate your perspective and experience the beauty of the landscape, and see the world from an eagle’s vantage point
  • Adventure Playscape – a natural place for kids with elements for creative play
  • Nature Trails – traverse through several acres of forest along the wetlands of the Ottauquechee River
  • Nature Store – field guides, nature-inspired gifts, science kits, educational books and more

The VINS Nature Center is located at 149 Nature’s Way in Quechee.

All exhibits, trails, and daily programs are included in the price of admission to the VINS Nature Center, which is $17.50 for adults, $16.50 for seniors, 62 and over, $15 for youth 4-17, and free for members and for children 3 and under. Reservations required in advance. Masks are to be worn at all times, no exceptions. For more information visit vinsweb.org.
