Soup Bowls for Hunger feeds the community in tenth year

Hand-made soup bowls are part of the ticket price, and the draw, for Soup Bowls for Hunger, a benefit for area food shelves.

Friday, March 18 at 5 p.m. — RUTLAND — Mark your calendars for the tenth annual Soup Bowls for Hunger which will be held on Friday, March 18 at the Rutland High School Cafeteria. Enjoy a bowl of soup, crackers, roll, dessert, and beverage and choose your own handcrafted bowl to take home. Bowls are being made by RHS art teacher Darren Spafford, students from Rutland High and Rutland Town Schools as well as local professional potters.  

Sponsored for the sixth year by Delta Kappa Gamma Society of women educators. All proceeds will be donated to the Rutland Community Cupboard and other local food shelves. Tickets are $15 per person (make checks payable to Soup Bowls for Hunger) and must be purchased at Rutland High School. There will be three sittings (5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m.) with top quality bowls available at each sitting. There will also be raffles for various donated items. Music will be provided by Daniel Luther Graves.
