Science Pub takes a look at how our choices impact the world

Sunday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. — FAIR HAVEN — Join the next Science Pub on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Fair Haven Inn, with this month’s guest, Professor Andrew Vermilyea, of Castleton College. Professor Vermilyea will discuss “Stranded Polar Bears? That’s the Least of It.”

Professor Vermilyea spent years studying melting glaciers in Alaska, learning that stranded polar bears are only the most photogenic of their world-altering impact. He will share his eye-candy photos and show how the choices we make – from heating our homes to fueling our cars – can have profound impacts in faraway places across the continent and even the globe.

Join these free monthly gatherings of curious, stimulating and altogether fun individuals to hear short informal lectures by area experts, and join the lively conversation. Have a drink, stay for dinner (or not), and end your weekend with a spurt of brain growth.
