Rutland South Rotary Club is rounding up Roundup

Dear Editor,

Rutland South Rotary Club is doing its part to protect the environment by starting with a roundup of the poisonous weed killer Roundup. They are asking those who have containers of Roundup sitting in their garages, basements, or sheds, empty or with some quantity left, to please bring them to the Vermont Farmers Market, Saturday, May 6, anytime between 10 a.m. 2 to 2p.m iin Howe Center. Rutland South Rotary will have a table prominently displayed with handouts and flyers on how to make a homemade weed killer. They will also dispose of the Roundup for you free of charge.

The primary ingredient in Roundup is glyphosate, and exposure is known to cause cancer, thyroid disease, infertility. It also pollutes our drinking water, gets into our food and kills pollinators.
