Poultney is the place to be Saturday, for town wide yard sales

Saturday, Oct. 11 at 9 a.m. — POULTNEY — Saturday, Oct. 11 is town wide yard sale day in Poultney. It’s the place to be – between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – rain or shine.

This event, sponsored annually by Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce in both October and June, is now a long-standing community tradition. Throughout the day and throughout the community one can find bargains and surprises at many local businesses, churches, clubs, organizations and home sites (and at vendor spaces on historic Main Street).  The day is a shoppers’ haven for all ages. Walk or drive through the Poultney community and check out every corner for special business bargains and yard/garage sales.

Library Director Rebecca Cook, the Chamber’s event contact spokesperson, said that the Chamber has many Main Street vendors, and that some of the Main Street businesses, such as Williams Hardware and Stitchy Women will have special deals in front of their stores. The Public Library will also have space in front of the library building, with books for sale, a traditional yard sale table, information on their capital campaign, and more. The Boy Scouts’ famous fried bread dough booth will be available at spaces 12 and 13. There is much participation throughout the entire community at this event.

A few spaces are still available for rent. Stop by the library or call to inquire at 802-287-5556.

Please keep the safety of others and yourself in mind when walking or driving through and stopping.
