Police investigate Mount Tabor shooting

Police are investigating the shooting death of a Mt. Tabor resident that occurred this weekend.
On Sunday evening, Vermont State Police from the Rutland Barracks responded to a 911 call from the town of Mount Tabor for a report of an accidental shooting at a residence.
Upon arrival, troopers and Manchester rescue found David Shores, Sr., deceased within the residence of an apparent gunshot wound.  Peggy Shores reported that her husband had fallen and accidentally shot himself.
Investigation is continuing by members of C troop BCI detectives ,and the Major Crime Unit. The body of David Shores, Sr. will be sent to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
