Okemo’s have-a-heart program raises funds to assist local families

LUDLOW – For more than a decade, Okemo Mountain Resort staff members have been celebrating Valentine’s Day by donating to the resort’s Have a Heart Program. The fundraising campaign began in January and ended on Feb. 14 to celebrate the “Have-a-Heart” theme. This year, staff donations totaled $3,343 and Okemo generously matched the donation amount for a grand total of $6,686.

Donations will be split evenly between Black River Good Neighbor Services, in Ludlow, and The Springfield Family Center, in Springfield.

Okemo Human Resources Operations Supervisor Carly Hoszkiewicz said, “The annual Have a Heart Campaign is a great example of our Community Value, as well as the generosity of the Okemo staff. We are proud to have such a great team that gives back to the local communities.”

Among its values, Okemo strives to achieve excellence by encouraging staff to be responsible citizens who make a difference by helping to enhance and support local communities. This year 30 departments participated in this year’s Have a Heart Program, with 28 departments reaching 100 percent participation – meaning that all staff members in that department donated to the campaign.
