Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. — LUDLOW — Okemo Mountain Resort celebrates the changing of the seasons with its annual Fall into Winter Festival on Saturday, Oct. 10. Jackson Gore, in all of its fall-foliage glory, will be the setting for enjoying live music, food and family activities. Okemo’s culinary team will be serving fresh-from-the-grill favorites and some seasonal specialties along with hot cider and some chilled autumn brews. Local food and craft vendors will be on hand for pre-holiday gift shopping and Okemo’s Snowsports Shop at the Clock Tower base area will be holding a Columbus Day weekend tent sale. Admission to the Fall into Winter Festival is free and festivities are slated from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Some of the activities planned for the day include face painting, an egg toss, hayrides, pumpkin painting and a kids’ pie-eating contest. Okemo’s Evolution Bike Park and Adventure Zone will be open during the Fall into Winter festival. Visitors may enjoy The Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster and the Haulback Challenge Course, trampoline bungee jumping, miniature golf, disc golf, a climbing pinnacle, zipline tours, Segway Personal Transport tours, and the Amp Energy Big Air Bag and more. Each of Okemo’s Adventure Zone features is priced individually or visitors can purchase an Adventure Zone Day Pass wristband.

Tony Lee Thomas will provide the musical soundtrack to the day’s fun, adventure and beautiful fall foliage. A student of voice from age four, Thomas’ vocal endeavors have included classical technique, various choral ensembles, even barbershop and doo-wop quartets. He began guitar at seven years old, double bass at age 10, furthering his understanding of instrumentation and song composition. Thomas’ performance experience lends him the ability to connect with audiences ranging from intimate and poignant solo performances to momentous full-blown commanding vamps with his rock band, the Tony Lee Thomas Band.

Festival attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. In the event of rain, music and activities will move to The Ice House at Jackson Gore. For more info, visit okemo.com or call 802-228-1600.
