New summer program at Billings Farm & Museum encourages reading

Kids age 6-8 are invited to join the Billings Bookworms

July 12-Aug. 16 — WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum recently announce the Billings Bookworms, a new summer program for kids ages 6-8, offered on Mondays, July 12-Aug. 16, from 10-11:30 a.m.

Each week, participants will read about and explore a farm-themed topic through activities and crafts. T opics include: Dairy, Taking Care of the Planet, Sheep, Gardening, Draft Animals, and Stewarding the Land. The 90-minute sessions include a story followed by a discus- sion, a snack provided by Billings Farm, and an activity such as feeding the chickens, making butter, or meeting the farm’s heifers, horses and sheep.

Register for one or more sessions or the entire 6-week series. Each program will be limited to 10 students and will follow the State of Vermont safety guidelines. Find the list of books, learn more about the program and register at billingsfarm.org/billings-bookworms.
