Killington Dept. of Parks & Recreation announces summer camps

Registration is still open for day camps, sports camps, swim lessons and swim team. Additionally, this summer will feature a new summer camp option, Green Mountain Movers.
Green Mountain Movers (GMM) will get campers playing with an emphasis on fun over competition. Designed for campers ages 10 to 13 of all athletic abilities, GMM is an inclusive and welcoming camp for tweens. Campers will participate in a variety of classic and nostalgic camp games that encourage movement, play, and relationship building. Each week’s activities will center around a certain theme, like Frisbee Week, featuring ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, and Kan Jam; or Kick Week which will feature kickball, soccer, hacky sack, and more. Camp will be held at the Ada Hall baseball fields behind the Sherburne Memorial Library on River Road, with occasional field trips to local state parks.

GMM replaces Camp Rek and Trek for the 2022 season. Killington Dept. of Parks & Recreation will be using this time to revamp and re-imagine Rek and Trek, as it looks forward to its return in 2023.

“The Killington Rec. team has been excitedly working on our camp programs, and as usual we just can’t wait for summer,” said recreation director Sarah Newell.

Returning for ages 4 – 9, Camp Loads of Fun provides the camaraderie of a neighborhood full of kids with themed weeks, arts and crafts and occasional trips to state parks. Located at the Johnson Recreation Center, 2706 River Road, campers will have the opportunity to enjoy access to the pool, including swim lessons.

Programs will fill quickly, so be sure to register soon. For more information and to register visit
