It’s a hay day at Billings Farm & Museum

Take in a narrated horse-drawn wagon ride during Billings Farm’s 19th century-style hay day.

Sunday, July 24 at 10 a.m.—WOODSTOCK—Billings Farm & Museum, gateway to Vermont’s rural heritage, will feature its annual Hay Day on Sunday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This annual family-friendly event will feature traditional 19th century haying techniques with Billings Farm’s draft horses, as well as narrated horse-drawn wagon rides and children’s activities, including penny-in-the-haystack and making clothespin horses, and scarecrow puppets.

See how field work was done in Vermont over a century ago and also experience modern-day farming at an operating dairy farm featuring more than 35 award-winning Jersey milking cows that produce 100 percent raw milk cheddar, as well as Southdown sheep, three teams of draft horses, and oxen.

Billings Farm & Museum is open daily through Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission: adults $14; 62 and over $13; age 5-15 $8; age 3-4: $4; 2 and under free. The farm is located 5302 Old River Road, Woodstock. For more information, call 802-457-2355 or visit billingsfarm.org.
