World Horror GrandMaster, Vt. horror writer Ellis visit The Book Nook

Sunday, Aug. 14 at 3:30 p.m.—LUDLOW— The Book Nook proudly announces a special author event with World Horror Grandmaster Brian Keene on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 3:30 p.m.
Brian Keene writes novels, comic books, short fiction, and occasional journalism for money. He is the author of over 40 books, mostly in the horror, crime, and dark fantasy genres. His 2003 novel, “The Rising,” is often credited (along with Robert Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead” comic and Danny Boyle’s film, “28 Days Later”) with inspiring pop culture’s current interest in zombies. His latest novel is “Pressure,” which has been described as “Jaws” meets “Alien.”
Local writer Asher Ellis will also be on hand to read and talk about his Vermont horror novel, “The Remedy.” Asher Ellis currently lives in his home state of Vermont, where there are far fewer cannibals than his novel may suggest. He has written award-winning short stories, plays, and films. When Asher isn’t killing college students in the pages of his fiction, he teaches them as a creative writing and English professor at Colby-Sawyer College.
