Home and recreation show provides a plethora of building and remodeling resources, all under one roof

Saturday, April 4 at 9 p.m. — RUTLAND — The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Southern Vermont announces it’s 18th Annual Home & Recreation Show held on Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Spartan Arena, behind Diamond Run Mall, Rutland.

Admission is free. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day. Plus, the first 50 kids will get a wooden birdhouse kit thanks to LaValley Building Supply. There will also be free kids’ activities throughout the day.

New this year, the Home Builders will draw the annual Grand Raffle drawing winners: first place wins $500, second place wins $250. Tickets will be on sale during the show, with winners announced at 2:30 p.m.

Some of the free 30-minute workshops include: Wood Pellet Boilers: Saving Money, Increasing Comfort at 10 a.m.; Pre-Planning your kitchen remodel at 11 a.m.; replacing a toilet from start to finish at 12-noon; the Science and Nutrition of Weight Loss at 1 p.m.; Little is Big…mini gardening worlds, fairies and beyond with Becky at 2 p.m. and more.

This is a great place to gather information and see the latest products if you’re building, remodeling, or just want to browse. Exhibits subjects include kitchens, building, banks, insurance, chimney services, windows, doors, glass, building materials, painting, decking, landscaping, roofing, stoves, baths, energy efficiency, heating, renewable energy, cable, internet and phone services, overhead doors, spas, cars and trucks, concrete, solar, weatherization, and more.
