From RCHS and an inn in VT to Puppy Bowl TV!

A Vermont inn and farm’s canine cousins get “pup close and personal” on Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl TV

Jetson, the “canine concierge” of The Wilburton Inn and Stitch, his rescue dog cousin at Earth Sky Time Farm, will be featured on “Animal Planet’s” beloved Puppy Bowl XVII, which airs at 2 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021.

“Animal Planet” producers were looking for the most dog friendly resort in New England and selected The Wilburton Inn in Manchester after reading about the doggie slumber parties hosted by Jetson, the Cavalier King Charles spaniel canine concierge. The producers chose Stitch from the Rutland Humane Society because they envisioned him as Orphan Annie to Jetson’s Daddy Warbucks.

A posse of pooches played croquet and giant chess with Stitch on the Wilburton mansion’s lawn before heading off to the big games. Stitch plays on Team Fluff and Jetson makes his his debut “pup close and personal.”

The producers hoped a guest might adopt Stitch as it would make a perfect TV ending. The surprise twist is that the Levis family, innkeepers at the Wilburton Inn, fell in love with him and adopted him at their nearby family farm! Stitch found his forever home with the Levises’ four children on the 200-acre Earth Sky Time Farm and now Jetson and Stitch are cousins.

“The Wilburton is a magical place,” said Jetson’s mom and family innkeeper, Melissa Levis. I met my Parisian true love at the inn, so of course Stitch found his forever home here too.”

The Wilburton created a Puppy Bowl Special to thank all dogs for their love through this “ruff” time. All breeds stay free at The Wilburton through Mother’s Day when Jetson hosts his next doggy slumber party.

The Wilburton welcomes all breeds in the private mansions, vacation homes, and hotel suites on the 30-acre estate. The Wilburton hosted the four night “Cavapalooza” which brought 100 Cavalier King Charles spaniels from 40 states to the resort.

“The Wilburton is more than pet friendly, it’s pet celebrating,” said Levis.

The Wilburton has welcomed dogs since the Levis family became innkeepers in 1987. Cavalier King Charles spaniels always stay free; other breeds are typically $40/night in guest rooms and $125 in the vacation homes and mansions. Dogs are permitted to walk off leash. Manchester is a dog-friendly town that welcomes dogs inside stores and outside restaurants.
