Sunday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. — RUTLAND — Emmy-award winning actress Tracey Conway will be the keynote speaker at “Matters of the Heart,” an event focused on creating awareness and providing education about heart health. The event will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 30 Center Street in Rutland. The event is free and open to the public and will also feature a panel discussion by Rutland Heart Center’s board-certified cardiologists, educational displays, healthy snacks and raffles.

Conway recalls the day when, minutes after spoofing “ER” on her sketch-comedy show, she literally dropped dead from sudden cardiac arrest. Her chances of survival were barely one in 20, but after six defibrillator shocks, paramedics brought her back to life. Tracey has turned her story – her sudden death, her recovery and the insight she has gained – in to a series of hilarious keynotes that will have you laughing until you cry. This event is sponsored by Rutland Regional Medical Center and the Rutland Herald.
